Board News:
Thanks to our Canoa Hills Show Committee, led by Sheryl Atkins. Great Show!
Rex Bybee has chaired our Finance Committee for many years and he has decided to step down. The Board approved Rebecca Keenan as his replacement. Thanks to Rex for overseeing our Finances for so many years. Under his guidance we were prepared for the Fiesta Room Expansion and his committee has always kept our budget in the black.
The policy has been reinstated that says that if you have NOT paid your dues for three years you will be required to take the Introduction to Clay Studio Class or complete the wavier process to rejoin the Studio. The requirement that you must have worked in the Studio in the past two years or you cannot renew your membership has been dropped.
It was decided by the Board that the Classroom should NOT be entered by members when the "Room in Use Sign "is posted on the doors. If members need items from the room they will need to wait until the room is empty.
The Board discussed the need to have the Studio closed on Monday mornings. Many different groups use the Studio on Monday mornings for tasks that would be difficult if the Studio were open. The Board decided that the Studio should remain closed.
The number of monitors that will be here in the summer will require a change in our Monitor shift schedule. It was decided that we will return to the 8-12, 12-4, 4 to 7 schedule beginning May 1. This will be in effect until the end of this year.
The Policy Manual has been review and revised by a Committee of Board members. It was accepted by the Board and will be posted on the Studio web-site in the near future. The Procedures for each Committee will be reviewed and updated in the coming months.
Members are asked to check in with their GVR card upon arriving at the Studio and before each purchase. If you leave the Studio to make a phone call, use the restroom or any other reason it is NOT necessary to sign in again with your card.
