October 20, 2023
The Board discussed the need to raise clay and firing prices to reflect the increases we have incurred in prices of clay and glaze. Dues will remain at $35. Membership forms for 2024 are online. The two new kilns are up and running. The old ones have been sold and removed from the studio.

The amendments to the bylaws were approved.
Board Meeting~September 15, 2023
The Board approved the purchase of two new kilns. A policy of closing the Studio at 4 PM on the following dates: Thanksgiving eve, Christmas eve, and New Year's eve was adopted. An ad hoc committee to run the election ,if we need to have one will be established ,with one Board member and studio members.
June 2, 2023
The Board approved the amendments to the bylaws. They now go to GVR and if approved by GVR they will come back for review by the membership a vote by membership for approval.
Policy was approved that would not allow a member to hold more than one of the following jobs: Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Finance Chairman, Bookkeeper or Cash Handler.
Jane Ercolani was approved as Service Co-Chairman.
Chris Shepardson was approved as Glaze Chairman, effective September 1.
Val Downs was approved as a Sculpture Instructor.
April 21~2023
The new "Request to Teach a Class" is now on the web-site. Pop-Up Class requests should be approved within 3 weeks.
Currently we have 341 members. Lee Curtis and Consuelo Udave are working on creating promotional rack cards for the club. SRS Open house is scheduled for March 16th, 2024. The Annual Meeting is scheduled for January 19th, 2024. Lynn Morgan was approved as Bylaws Committee Chairman. Ellen Wicai was approved as Monitor Co-chairman. A new mission statement was presented by Lee Curtis and approved by the Board. May meeting changed to June 2 at 9 am in the classroom.
March 24, 2023
The financial review was explained by Paul Wolford and accepted by the Board.
Christine Hansen was approved as an Introduction to the Clay Studio teacher.
Sheraldine Gardener was approved as Social Chairman.
The board approved planning for the January 2014 GVR Club event, Open House/25 year celebration in March 2024 and the purchase of 4 new signs for these events.
Board Code of Conduct was accepted and added to the Policy Manual.
A new policy regarding approval of classes and workshops was approved by the board. Only NEW instructors and classes will need Education committee and Board approval.

Thanks to our Canoa Hills Show Committee, led by Sheryl Atkins. Great Show!
Rex Bybee has chaired our Finance Committee for many years and he has decided to step down. The Board approved Rebecca Keenan as his replacement. Thanks to Rex for overseeing our Finances for so many years. Under his guidance we were prepared for the Fiesta Room Expansion and his committee has always kept our budget in the black.
The policy has been reinstated that says that if you have NOT paid your dues for three years you will be required to take the Introduction to Clay Studio Class or complete the wavier process to rejoin the Studio. The requirement that you must have worked in the Studio in the past two years or you cannot renew your membership has been dropped.
It was decided by the Board that the Classroom should NOT be entered by members when the "Room in Use Sign "is posted on the doors. If members need items from the room they will need to wait until the room is empty.
The Board discussed the need to have the Studio closed on Monday mornings. Many different groups use the Studio on Monday mornings for tasks that would be difficult if the Studio were open. The Board decided that the Studio should remain closed.
The number of monitors that will be here in the summer will require a change in our Monitor shift schedule. It was decided that we will return to the 8-12, 12-4, 4 to 7 schedule beginning May 1. This will be in effect until the end of this year.
The Policy Manual has been review and revised by a Committee of Board members. It was accepted by the Board and will be posted on the Studio web-site in the near future. The Procedures for each Committee will be reviewed and updated in the coming months.
Members are asked to check in with their GVR card upon arriving at the Studio and before each purchase. If you leave the Studio to make a phone call, use the restroom or any other reason it is NOT necessary to sign in again with your card.
