Times are still really tough and there are so many in our community in need of food and other services. As members of the Clay Studio of Green Valley, we can once again band together in support of those needing our help. This year, we have been asked donate 250 bowls to The Empty Bowls Project to benefit Valley Assistance Services. We are starting early this year to avoid over crowding the kilns and the studio in general during our busiest months.
To get things rolling, this Thursday, October 27th - 4-7pm, we will have an Empty Bowls Project Workshop in the wheel room at the Clay Studio. Thank you to Dan and Pam Wegener for volunteering to monitor during the workshop.
Pugged clay will be provided at no cost for the Empty Bowls Project. Glazing and firing of the bowls will also be at no cost to the members.
Please come and donate your time and talent to this very worthwhile project! If you do not want to glaze the bowls you make, other volunteers will be happy to glaze them. If you have any questions, wish to volunteer for the Clay Studio Empty Bowls Committee or if you have suggestions to benefit this project, please contact Jane Lombardo at 232-3183.
The Empty Bowls Project will be held on March 10th, 2012 to benefit Valley Assistance Services.
